Learn A Little More ABOUT THE STAFF
| William "Lee" Stanley |
 |
Lee Stanley came to Glacier Cyclery and the mountains of Montana in 2001, straight from the island of St. Thomas where he, his wife Cyndy had been floating on a boat for four years. Lee has canoed the entire Mississippi river and was once a private investigator, just like Magnum P.I. He’s also been the captain of a party boat which I’ll bet was a job at which he excelled. Lee likes snowboarding, Ford Broncos, hard-rockin' tunes, welding, Whitney Houston, reading, guns, high-stakes, no-limit poker and he's the best non-practicing bartender that I know. Lee also has an excellent falsetto singing voice. Lee is currently down to two steeds: a Jamis Nova and a Santa Cruz BLT-C. The ‘C’, in case you didn’t know, stands for carbon. |
| Michael Meador |
| Mike came to Glacier Cyclery in 1998 after working in various bike shops scattered around the American West. Mike likes to work on bikes with the exception of his own. Mike lives with his wife Tami, his son Owen, a well-behaved dog, an ill-behaved puppy and a cat that kills ceaselessly. Mike likes lots of stuff, including, but not limited to, singletrack, bike tours, Trail-a-Bike rides, long road rides, snowboarding, food, commas, electronica, good books, the changing of the seasons, and rum. Mike dislikes credit card debt, telemarketers, telemarkers, teletubbies, and mimes. Mike's quiver includes a Burley touring bike, a 1987 Fat Chance, a '69' Sting Ray, a somewhat worked Santa Cruz Nomad, a Jamis Dragon 29er, and every one of them has a worn drive train. |

| Tyler Tourville |
 |
Tyler hails from Wisconsin and has been at Glacier Cyclery since 2001. Tyler is the founder and former 'El Presidente' of the Flathead Fat Tires, and was instrumental in the creation of the Whitefish Dirt Jump Park. Tyler likes all bikes but prefers to be going downhill on dirt. Tyler also enjoys picking huckleberries, the gathering of firewood, and shoveling snow which is fortunate as he lives up near Canada with his wife Brandy, son Tiptin, and various domesticated creatures. Tyler's stable includes a Santa Cruz Nomad, a Jamis Nova, and a Kona Kula 29er which comes in handy on the long dirt commute from up near Canada. Now that Tyler and Brandy are parents, their bikes haven't changed, but Tiptin’s rocking a Strider with a pedal-driven bike soon to come, which is good as that boy could use some brakes. |
| Tim Killen |
| Tim came to Glacier Cyclery by way of Missoula where he studied Recreation Management with half of the other students at University of Montana. Tim rides fast and is a well-rounded rider covering all disciplines, recumbents excluded, in any given week. Tim gets out a lot and is usually accompanied by his two dogs and his wife Meghan. Tim is a recovering river guide and a fine cook. Tim's garage is packed with many steeds, including, but not limited to a Santa Cruz Nomad, a Black Cat custom 29er, a Kona Rad Jake, a Kona HumuhumuNukunuku-Apua'a, a custom Boedie and the most recent addition, a Moots RSL which he even more recently sold to buy a lighter weight ski setup as Tim likes to ski uphill. You’ll find Tim on the sales floor, where he can answer any question about any bike you’re thinking of buying, recumbents excluded. |

| The "Real" Clay Morrison |
 |
Clay comes to Glacier Cyclery from the southern climes of Missoula. It's been said that Clay goes big and it's been said that that is an understatement. Clay used to break rocks in a quarry, and for the first month he was here we didn't know he spoke. Clay likes dirt jumping, skiing, Toyota Landcruisers, PBR, and maiming Tim with sniper-like rubber band attacks. Clay lives with his wife Nancy, son Brody and their two dogs. Someday I would like to steal Clay's Ipod. So far, Clay's favorite ride is his Santa Cruz Blur 4X, and his quiver includes but is not limited to a Kona Jake and the Hampton Pyro Cruiser he rides on his way to work. Clay's new pickup is a 1991, Toyota, of course, with 239,000 miles. |
| Travis Adams |
| Travis Adams is a sophomore at MSU in Bozeman where he is studying mechanical engineering. Although it is rumored that he went on a road ride this year, he can often be spotted shredding ‘The Spence’, a proving-ground for some of the world’s best freeriders, fine-tuning his freeride skills. Travis also enjoys soccer (known as ‘football’, or ‘futbol’ almost everywhere else) and is known to be as adept at skiing as he is at freeriding. Maybe even more so as he can throw down huge 720’s on his skis but not on his bike. Travis rides a Norco 125 3.0 and a Santa Cruz Bullit which he’d be glad to sell to you as he’d like to update his quiver of two. |
 |
| Nick Jack |
 |
Nick Jack is a senior at Whitefish High School and plans on studying physics after he graduates. We’ll see how that works out. Nick enjoys skiing, soccer (‘football’, or ‘futbol’ everywhere but here), tennis, and powerlifting. I’m just kidding on the powerlifting. Nick speaks Spanish so if soccer is ‘futbol’ to you, we might let you speak with Nick if you call. Nick rides a Santa Cruz Heckler, one of the most capable trail bikes of all time. |
| Kyle Watkins |
| Kyle Watkins may look familiar to you. That is if you’re from upstate New York and maybe frequented the bike shop he managed for the last five years. If not, maybe you recently saw a Buddy Holly album cover or an Elvis Costello video. Kyle recently arrived in Whitefish with his girlfriend Sara, and their dog, Napi. Kyle is a darn good mechanic and can fit you to a bike like nobody’s business. Kyle likes steel bikes, large wheels, pink grips, Van Halen (Diamond Dave, not Hagar), cyclocross, and Mexican food. Kyle dislikes derailleurs and fruit in his beer, but seeing as he likes Mexican food, I wonder if that includes limes. Kyle’s quiver includes a Gary Fisher (inventor of the wheel) Ferrous 29er--sans derailleurs, a Bianchi San Jose cyclocross bike--sans derailleurs, and a fancy carbon road bike from which he’ll probably remove the derailleurs at some point. |

| Ron and Jan Brunk |
| Ron & Jan started Glacier Cyclery about 28 years ago and never looked back. Ron still wrenches in the shop when needed, and Jan tries her best to keep the unruly sales staff in line. Ron was once a potter and bakes a killer scone. Jan was once a beekeeper and plays a mean accordion (if that's possible). Ron & Jan like to throw together little projects such, as, say, sending 160 or so refurbished bikes to Mozambique, and traveling there themselves to receive the bikes, give them away, and train the locals to repair them. Ron & Jan love God, each other, all of their staff, and long tandem rides on sunny days. The Brunks are accomplished bike tourists and have good tales from their various tours. Ron rides the front half of an Ibis Cousin It tandem, while Jan brings up the rear. Their garage is filled with the Ibis tandem, a Miyata unicycle, a Santa Cruz Superlite, a Kona Hei-Hei, a Kona Jake the Snake, a Jamis Nova and a Xenith, a 1981 Peugeot PX10, a Bottecchia something or other, and a restored ’72 MGB, which, in case you don’t know, is a car. |
